The origins of the chore jacket stem from late nineteenth century France, where this style of outer garment was ideal for the tough physical work of labourers, railroad workers, and farmers. Most frequently made out of durable cotton drill, the Stan Ray chore jacket is constructed from sturdy cotton twill herringbone, a traditional workwear fabric used by several militaries during and after WWII.
