7 Days of DadFits with Sam

Fun Fact: The guy you see in most of our photos, also happens to be a Kind Curations Owner, our Menswear Buyer, and Father to our little girl. So I think that makes him pretty qualified to tell us about his favourite fits for 7 days of dressing like a Cool Dad. Enjoy. And Happy Father's Day to all!

Fit 1. I've had a Detroit Jacket by Carhartt in my wardrobe for about 10 years. It's timeless, suitable for work, the footy or the bar. It gets better with age and wear. The canvas will soften, the colour will fade, and you'll still be wearing it when you're 60. Paired with some Carhartt work pants and Suicoke Sandals - just so someone doesn't mistake me for someone who does real work(wear).

Fit 2. OrSlow is my favourite brand and one that I was very excited to bring into the store. It takes inspiration from heritage military and workwear style but uses the best fabrics and manufacturing techniques to make authentic high quality garments. The Check Shirt has a loose weave (here comes summer) and the pants are based on a 1950s Military chino. They are hard wearing, relaxed fitting and can be dressed up or down. My everyday pants.

Fit 3. Gato Heroi make the best longboards in the world. Handshaped, hard to get and all unique. From time to time they make other stuff, and these trunks are great. A soft cotton with their signature wave made in very limited quantities in Portugal. Paired with the 2-Pack Tshirt from Lady White Co - the perfect classic tee thats been immortalised by the likes of James Dean, and more recently by Jeremy Allen White in The Bear.

Fit 4. Another OrSlow fit, a raglan baseball tee and cargo pants. I hadn't seen a baseball tee for a while and with all the 90's/00's' trends back, why not? Pairs well with the cargo's which are relaxed but not too baggy. A more sophisticated take on what the kids are wearing.

Fit 5. Yes, the OrSlow pants are back, so let's talk about the SS Oxford Shirt from Yellow Rat. This one will be in my Summer rotation for work, the beach and hopefully a date night. A classic Ivy style that is unassuming to some, but a must have staple of classic menswear. A good one to pack for vacations where it'll work for the beach, the bar, or those days where it all blends into one.

Fit 6. More Orslow and another Oxford that just works for everything. The fit is oversized and the fabric heavy enough to hold it's shape without being too hot. I could just cut and paste in my comments from Fit 5. Try this one on instore and you'll understand why its not just another white button up shirt. Wear it with shorts for a more casual look. The heritage outdoor influenced from Australian brand Larriet are great summer shorts. Pockets for stuff, elastic waist for comfort, can swim in them if you need to.

Fit 7. I think a good Polo is a very underrated essential. A versatile piece in your wardrobe. I wear this with Larriet workpants for a 90's influenced day to day outfit, but then I'll also pull it out for golf. Pique Cotton is breathable - a heritage performance fabric that looks the part for tennis, golf or boating without pretending you're going to tee it up alongside Scotty Scheffler at the US Open. You'll feel more comfortable for the post round beer by wearing something you'd actually wear in the real world.
